Food Waste Organics Recovery Facility

Colony has positioned itself as a valuable partner to grocery stores, food manufacturers and agricultural processors in providing organic waste recycling services to help business meet GHG reduction goals and regulations. Colony has built and operates a recycling facility at the Cedar Avenue Recycling and Transfer Station (CARTS) a leading state of the art Material Recovery Facility (MRF) located in Fresno owned and operated by Caglia Environmental. The facility takes in expired, contaminated, mislabeled, damaged packaged food/beverages and groceries and separates the organics from packaging materials. The recovered packaging material is recycled if can be and the organics are recycled to digesters and composters to produce renewable fuel and fertilizers

Colony is well positioned to help companies recycle organic waste and divert from landfills required by AB 1826 and SB 1383 which builds on the success of the mandatory commercial recycling program established by AB 341.
